Bio:
Siegfried Wagner (1874–1952) was a Danish sculptor, born in Hamburg and trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts’ sculpture school from 1889 to 1896. From 1898, he worked at Bing & Grøndahl under J.F. Willumsen, who strongly influenced his artistic development. His animal sculptures combine decorative stylisation with powerful, expressive forms. Among his best-known works is The Lur Blowers in Copenhagen’s City Hall Square.
