Dorothy Ruhne-Sempinski (1908–1973) was an American ceramic artist. Brutalist ceramic art of the 1960s was characterised by raw material expression, architectural form, and a strong focus on texture and surface. Many artists worked with unique pieces or very small editions, often bridging art, architecture, and sculpture, making such works highly sought after today.
